Trillium Lake Campground is a beautiful and popular campground not far from the quaint town of Government Camp. It provides spectacular views of majestic Mt. Hood, Oregon’s highest point.
Can you drive to Trillium Lake?
Take Trillium Lake Loop Road (Forest Road 2656) for 2.5 miles, passing Trillium Lake Campground and Day Use Area turns. The road will bear right and go down to the lake’s dam. Parking is just before the dam.

With the time we spent enjoying the views and taking photos at the snow-covered lake, we spent roughly 3 hours there. It’s a great beginner snowshoeing spot and gives the area a completely different feel when everything is covered in snow. Definitely be sure to go back in the summer too to get views like this.
